CUSTOM CAR GRAPHICS

The "Flame Job" is the quintessential hot rod graphic. And for decades, it was only applied with paint. In fact, when it came to hot rods and custom cars, paint was seen as the only way to go; no self-respecting hot-rodder would put vinyl on their customized pride and joy. But times have changed, and so has vinyl graphics and wraps. Today's vinyl products and application techniques can produce results equal to the finest custom paint job and even better, in many ways. For starters, turn-around time with custom vinyl wraps and graphics is typically days instead of months. This means less time waiting to enjoy cruising in your shiny, new sled. For car show enthusiasts, it also means you might actually be able to make the show in time because your wheels aren't holed up in a paint booth. Design flexibility is another huge advantage of choosing vinyl over paint. Sure, smooth and shiny paint looks good, but suppose you change your mind and are feeling flat...flat-black, that is. Or maybe you're after that patina look. With vinyl, any color,, look or style you want is just a wrap away.

PPF Keeps Your Hot Rod Looking Cool

This slick piece wears what's known as a semi-flat finish. Featuring just a hint of shine, finishes like this are popular on traditional themed hot rods and can be done with paint or vinyl (guess which this is). While this is a great look, few people realize how difficult this kind of finish can be to take care of, if it's paint that is. This is because it doesn't stand up well to scuffs or scrapes and touch ups can be difficult to apply and blend, which can mean complete panel repaints (or more) in the event of even the smallest scratch.

Having Paint Protection Film (PPF) applied here at IMPACT GRAPHIX, is an excellent way to protect this type of finish. It's thickness, durability and self-healing properties will help this finish last cruise after cruise and car show season after car show season.
