Q: How does a custom wrap compare to custom paint on a car?

A: It depends on what you mean by compare. If it's customizing your car's look, today's vinyl can go head-to-head with some of the best custom paint jobs in the world. In fact, vinyl offers many advantages when it comes to customizing your car. For example, vinyl is a much more flexible option when it comes to choosing a look: gloss, matte, flat, custom graphics and colors of any kind- they can all be done with vinyl. Just like paint. BUT, if you change your mind and want something new, vinyl lets you take it all off and start over again. All without ruining your original paint finish. Better yet, vinyl actually protects the paint it's on. Vinyl also provides for a faster turn-around time, aka, "instant satisfaction"; the typical, high-end custom paint job can take months (or longer) to complete. In comparison, a high-quality, highly detailed custom wrap can be done in days or weeks.

Q: Where can I use PPF and do I have to get the entire car done?

A: PPF can be used to great benefit on just about any surface on any vehicle. It can be applied to factory paint finishes or added to custom graphics and color changes, to make them last even longer. Another great feature of PPF application is that you can do as much of the vehicle as you want, when you want. You can learn more about our PPF products here.

Q: How long does it take to do a vehicle color change?

A: Typically 5-7 days though the actual vehicle and extent of the design can affect that time.

Q: What's the difference between a business sign and a dimensional sign?

A: As a general rule, dimensional signs are business signs, but not all business signs are dimensional ones. More specifically, business signs can be comprised of any variety of styles, from simple one-sided signs that hang on or stand near a business with graphics applied to them, to more complex signs that have more elements to them and are more time-consuming to make. Dimensional signs fall into the second category; they go beyond flat surfaces and printed graphics, instead being more 3-D like in their construction and look.

Q: How long will a printed vinyl sign last?

A: There are a lot of factors that determine how long the look, integrity and useful lifespan of a vinyl sign will be. The high-performance vinyl products from 3M & Avery that we use are designed to last outside for 3-5 years, but other factors can play a role. Things like the substrate the vinyl is on, extreme weather conditions, if they are stationary or on a vehicle, can all have an impact.
